Summer Intensives 2025

This Summer Intensive group will focus on letter and number formation and
identification, as well as the development of Visual and Fine Motor skills that
support writing.
Multi-sensory strategies will be used to support efficient letter and number
formation sequencing habits consistent with handwriting programs most commonly
used in schools. Repetition will be provided to support “overlearning” and
automation of handwriting. Automation of handwriting allows students to shift
their focus to other components of writing as they progress in school, such as
spelling, capitalization, punctuation and more!

This Summer Intensive group will focus on the development of skills and
strategies to support improved spelling of frequently used words, sentence
writing, and organization of ideas to support paragraph writing and beyond.
This will include supported practice with self-monitoring spatial qualities of
writing, such as writing on the lines, writing within designated spaces for
answers, and consistent use of spacing between words. Students will also be
taught strategies for responding to various types of prompts, questions and
writing assignments with multiple parts, as well as strategies to improve
checking over their written work.

Students in this Summer Intensive group will learn what executive functions are
and how some day to day challenges can be overcome by implementing strategies to
improve these skills!
Students will also be provided with therapeutic activities to further develop
executive functioning skills and practice implementing the supportive strategies
they learn. Areas of focus will include mindset, task initiation, sustained
attention, planning, organization, impulse control, frustration tolerance,
self-monitoring, self-advocacy and more!
